สวัสดีครับ พอดีวันนี้วันอาทิตย์ที่ ๑๖ กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๖ ผมได้ผ่านไปทางวัดน้อยนอก นนทบุรี เลยขออนุญาตเล่าความเป็นมาของวัดนี้นะครับ
วัดน้อยนอก เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ที่สร้างขึ้นในสมัยพระเจ้ากรุงธนบุรี ตามประวัติที่ได้ขุดค้นพบแผ่นจารึกที่ทำด้วยทองแดง กล่าวไว้ว่า ขุนศรีมงคลและเหล่าทหารที่ติดตามพระเจ้ากรุงธนบุรีได้หนีการตามล่าของทหารพม่ามาจนถึงฝั่งแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา ซึ่งเป็นคุ้งน้ำกว้างใหญ่ขวางอยู่เบื้องหน้า
ขุนศรีมงคลไม่สามารถพาเหล่าทหารติดตามหนีไปไหนได้แล้ว ขุนศรีมงคลจึงตั้งสัตยาธิษฐานว่า “หากเราและเหล่าทหารที่ติดตามตัวนี้รอดพ้นจากการติดตามของพม่าแล้วไซร์จัดสร้างวัดเพื่อเป็นพุทธสถาน ให้สืบทอดอายุพระพุทธศาสนา”
จากนั้นขุนศรีมงคลจึงนำพวกทหารติดตามไปซ่อนตัวอยู่ใต้ต้นโพธิ์ริมปากคลอง (คือคลองบางกระสอในปัจจุบัน) ขุนศรีมงคลและเหล่าทหารติดตามพากันนั่งสมาธิอย่างสงบใต้ต้นโพธิ์นั้น
ฝ่ายแม่ทัพและทหารพม่าซึ่งติดตามขุนศรีมงคลและทหารมาโดยตลอด เมื่อมาถึงต้นโพธิ์ริมฝั่งแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาที่ขุนศรีมงคลและทหารที่ติดตามนั่งสมาธิและซ่อนตัวอยู่ ฝ่ายพม่ากลับมองไม่เห็น ต่างพากันงุนงงสงสัยว่าพวกทหารไทยหายไปไหน
ต่อมาเมื่อศึกพม่าสงบแล้ว ขุนศรีมงคลและเหล่าทหารที่ติดตาม พร้อมด้วยชาวบ้านที่อาศัยอยู่บริเวณใกล้เคียง ต่างมีจิตศรัทธาสร้างวัดขึ้นมาตามสัตยาธิษฐานที่ขุนศรีมงคลได้ให้ไว้
เมื่อสร้างวัดเสร็จแล้วขุนศรีมงคลจึงถวายนามวัดนี้ว่า “วัดน้อย” ตามชื่อของบุตรีของท่านที่ให้เป็นอนุสรณ์สืบไป ปัจจุบันวัดนี้มีชื่อว่า “วัดน้อยนอก” เพื่อให้คล้องกับวัดน้อยใน ครับ

Mina stories: Wat Noy Nok and Khun Si Mongkon’s wish
Today is Sunday 16 of July, 2023, it may by a lucky day for someone. I just went to Wat Noy Nok Temple, situated near Phra Nang Klao Bridge, in Nonthaburi.
I would like to tell you about the story of this temple.
Wat Noy Nok was built in the reign of King Taksin the Great of Dhonburi Period. The story took place at the time when Ayutthaya was invaded by Burmese soldiers in 1767. At that time, the Burmese soldiers looked for the Thai soldiers in order to kill them or take them as prisoners.
Khun Si Mongkon, an officer of Ayutthaya, and his soldiers were pursued by Burmese soldiers. Khun Si Mongkon and his soldiers arrived near the riverside of Chao Phraya. They had no way to go. The Burmese soldiers came close to them.
Khun Si Monkon saw a big Bodi tree located at the mouth of a canal (Khong Bang Kraso, at the present time). He told his soldiers to sit and meditate under the big tree. Then, he made a wish, “We would like to hide ourselves from the enemies by doing meditative sitting under this Bodi Tree. If we were not found out by our enemies, we would have a temple built in this area in the future.”
Surprisingly, the Burmese came to the Bodi tree but could see nothing, although Khun Si Mongkon and his soldiers were practicing meditation there. Then, the Burmese soldiers went away.
After end of the war, Khun Si Mongkon, his soldiers and the villagers living nearby had a temple built in the area where he and his soldiers used to hide themselves from the Burmese soldiers.
Wat Noy Nok was built according to this wish. Khun Si Mongkon gave a name to the new temple: “Wat Noy”.
The word “Wat” means “temple”, and the term “Noy” means “small”. Here, the word "Noy" came from the nickname of Khun Si Mongkon's daughter.
At present, there are two “Wat Noy” temples. So, to avoid some confusion, the word “Nok” was added up to the name of the temple. “Wat Noy Nok” literally means “the Exterior Noy Temple”. This name is different from the name of the other temple: “Wat Noy Nai”, which literally means “the Interior Noy Temple”.
Hence, Khun Si Mongkon’s wish came true. Wat Noy Nok is one of the sacred places constructed by our ancestors’ wishes so as to preserve our Buddhism for eternity.

Histoire de Mina : Wat Noy Nok et le souhait de Khun Si Mongkon
Aujourd'hui, c’est dimanche 16 juillet 2023. C’est peut-être le jour de chance pour quelques-uns. J’ai visité le Wat Noy Nok, situé près du pont Phra Nang Klao, à Nonthaburi. Donc, j’aimerais vous raconter l’histoire de ce temple.
Wat Noy Nok a été construit sous le règne du roi Taksin le Grand de la période Dhonburi. L'histoire se déroule au moment où Ayutthaya est envahie par des soldats birmans en 1767. A cette époque, les soldats birmans recherchent les soldats thaïlandais afin de les tuer ou de les faire prisonniers.
Khun Si Mongkon, un officier d'Ayutthaya, et ses soldats ont été poursuivis par les soldats birmans. Khun Si Mongkon et ses soldats sont arrivés près de la rive de Chao Phraya. Ils n'avaient aucun chemin à parcourir. Les soldats birmans se sont approchés d'eux.
Khun Si Monkon a vu un grand arbre Bodi situé à l'embouchure d'un canal (le présent Khong Bang Kraso). Il a dit à ses soldats de s'asseoir et de méditer sous le grand arbre. Puis, il a fait un vœu:
« Nous aimerions nous cacher des ennemis en faisant de la méditation assis sous cet arbre Bodi. Si nous n'étions pas découverts par nos ennemis, nous ferions construire un temple dans cette zone à l'avenir. »
Miraculeusement, les Birmans sont venus à l'arbre Bodi mais n'ont rien vu. Khun Si Mongkon et ses soldats faisaient la méditation devant leurs yeux. Mais, ils n’ont vu personne. Ensuite, les soldats birmans sont partis.
Après la fin de la guerre, le roi Taksin le Grand a fait construire la ville de Dhonburi. Khun Si Mongkon, ses soldats et les villageois vivant à proximité des rives Chao Phraya, ont fait construire un temple dans l’endroit où Khun Si Mongkon et ses soldats se sont cachés.
C'est ainsi Wat Noy Nok a été construit. Khun Si Mongkon a donné un nom au nouveau temple : « Wat Noy ». Le mot « Wat » veut dire « temple’, et le terme « Noy » veut dire « petit ». Ici, « Noy » est le petit nom de la fille de Khun Si Mongkon.
Actuellement, il y a deux temple « Wat Noy ». Donc, pour éviter une confusion, on a changé le nom du temple en « Wat Noy Nok », qui signifie littéralement « le temple Noy de l’extérieur ». Ce nom-ci est différent du nom de l'autre temple : « Wat Noy Nai », signifiant « le Temple Noy à l’intérieur ».
Par conséquent, le souhait de Khun Si Mongkon s'est réalisé. Wat Noy Nok est l'un des lieux sacrés construits par la volonté de nos ancêtres afin d'hériter notre Bouddhisme pour l'éternité.
