ขอเล่าเรื่อง
“สุนัขจิ้งจอกโอหัง” จากวิโรจนชาดก ให้ฟังกันครับ
ครั้งหนึ่ง
สุนัขจิ้งจอกหนีศัตรูมาเจอราชสีห์ซึ่งกำลังหาอาหารอยู่
สุนัขจิ้งจอกกลัวว่าราชสีห์จะฆ่ามัน จึงขออยู่รับใช้ราชสีห์ตลอดชีวิต
ราชสีห์ยอมรับสุนัขจิ้งจอกให้เป็นผู้รับใช้ ทั้งคู่อาศัยอยู่ในถ้ำที่ปลายเขา
จากนั้นมา
สุนัขจิ้งจอกตามเจ้านายและกินซากเดนอาหารของราชสีห์อย่างมีความสุข
มันมีหน้าที่คอยยืนบนเขาและคอยดูเหยื่อ เมื่อมีเหยื่อผ่านมา
มันจะไปบอกราชสีห์ให้ฆ่าเหยื่อที่มันต้องการกิน
และราชสีห์ทำตามที่สุนัขจิ้งจอกแนะนำ
วันหนึ่ง
สุนัขจิ้งจอกยืนอยู่บนยอดเขา เห็นช้างกำลังตกมัน สุนัขจิ้งจอกต้องการกินช้างตกมันตัวนี้
มันบอกไปบอกราชสีห์ให้ฆ่าช้าง ราชสีห์ฆ่าช้างตามที่มันบอก
และแบ่งปันอาหารให้กับสุนัขจิ้งจอก
สุนัขจิ้งจอกคิดว่า
มันมีสี่ขาเหมือนราชสีห์ มันสามารถฆ่าช้างได้ด้วยตัวมันเอง ดังนั้น
มันหาราชสีห์และกล่าวว่า “ฉันคิดว่าฉันสามารถฆ่าช้างได้ด้วยตนเอง นายขึ้นไปบนยอดเขาและคอยดูช้าง
ถ้าเห็นช้าง มาบอกฉัน ฉันจะฆ่ามันเอง”
ราชสีห์กล่าวกับสุนัขจิ้งจอกว่า
“แกเป็นสัตว์ตัวน้อยๆ จะไปฆ่าสัตว์ตัวใหญ่ได้อย่างไร อย่างโอหังไปหน่อยเลย”
สุนัขจิ้งจอกยืนยันความต้องการของตน
ดังนั้นราชสีห์จึงบอกสุนัขจิ้งจอกให้คอยในถ้ำ แล้วราชสีห์ขึ้นไปบนยอดเขาเพื่อคอยดูช้าง
ราชสีห์เห็นช้างตัวหนึ่ง
มันลงจากยอดเขามาบอกสุนัขจิ้งจอก “มีช้างมาตัวหนึ่งแล้ว ขอให้โชคดีเด้อหล่า!”
สุนัขจิ้งจอกออกจากถ้ำ
เมื่อมันเจอช้าง มันกระโดดเพื่อกัดคอช้าง แต่มันกระโดดไม่ถึงคอช้าง
มันนอนอยู่บนพื้น ช้างกระทืบมันจนตาย
เรื่องนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า
เราไม่ควรโอหัง เราควรมีท่าทีอ่อนน้อมกับผู้คน

Mina’s Stories: The Arrogant
Fox
Once,
a fox ran away from his enemies and met the lion who was searching for a food.
The fox was afraid that the lion would kill it. So, it made a pledge to follow
and serve the lion for life. The lion accepted the fox as his servant. They
both lived in a cave situated on the foot of the hill.
Since
then, the fox followed his master and ate a residue of food eaten by his master
happily. Its duty was to stand on the hill and watched for the prey. The fox told
the lion to kill any prey it wanted to eat. The lion did as the fox suggested.
One
day, the fox stood on the hill and saw an elephant being in rut. It wanted to
eat this in-rut elephant. The fox told the lion to kill the elephant. The lion
killed the elephant and shared its meat to the fox.
The
fox thought that it has four legs like the lion. It could kill an elephant by itself.
So, it went to see the lion and said, “I think I can kill an elephant by
myself. You go up the hill and watch any elephant. If you see one, just tell
me. I will kill it.”
The
lion said to the fox, “You are a small animal. How can you kill a big
elephant? Don’t be arrogant!”
The
fox insisted. So, the lion told the fox to stay in the cave. Then the lion
climbed up the hill to see an elephant.
The
lion saw an elephant. It came down the hill and told the fox, “Here comes an
elephant and good luck to you!”
The
fox went out of the cave. When it saw the elephant, it jumped to bite the
elephant’s neck. But it did not reach the elephant’s neck. It lay on the floor.
The elephant killed the fox with his feet.
The
moral is that we should not be arrogant. We should keep our humble attitude
towards people.

Mina raconte : Le renard arrogant
Une fois, un renard s'enfuit de ses
ennemis et rencontra le lion qui chercha de la nourriture. Le renard avait peur
que le lion le tue. Alors, il s'engagea à le suivre et à le servir à vie. Le
lion l’accepta comme son serviteur. Ils vivaient tous les deux dans une grotte
située au pied de la colline.
Depuis, le renard suivit son maître et
manga avec bonheur un résidu de nourriture mangé par son maître. Son devoir
était de se tenir sur la colline et de surveiller la proie. Le renard dit au
lion de tuer toute proie que ce renard voulait manger. Le lion fit ce que
suggéra son serviteur.
Un jour, le renard se tint sur la
colline et a vit un éléphant en rut. Il voulait manger ce grand animal. Il dit
au lion de tuer l’éléphant. Le lion tua ce grand animal et a partagea la viande
avec le renard.
Le renard pensait qu'il avait quatre
pattes comme le lion et qu’il pouvait tuer un éléphant tout seul. Alors, il alla
voir le lion et lui dit : « Je pense que je peux tuer un éléphant par moi-même.
Vous montez la colline et regardez n'importe quel éléphant. Si vous en voyez
un, dites-le-moi. Je vais le tuer. »
Le lion dit au renard : « Tu es un
petit animal. Comment peux-tu tuer un gros éléphant ? Ne sois pas
arrogant ! »
Le renard insista qu’il put le faire.
Alors, le lion lui dit de rester dans la grotte. Puis le lion monta sur la
colline pour voir un éléphant.
Le lion vit un éléphant. Il descendit
de la colline et dit au renard : « Voici un éléphant et bon courage à
toi ! »
Le renard alla vers un grand
animal. Il sauta pour mordre le cou de l’éléphant. Mais il n’atteignit pas le
cou de ce grand animal. Il gisait sur le sol. L'éléphant écrasa le renard avec
ses pieds.
La morale est que nous ne devons pas
être arrogants. Nous devons garder une humble attitude envers d’autres personnes.
